I have been told that this is the 'India Bayonet No. 1 Mark II*'. It was made in May 1942 at the Rifle Factory Ishapore (R.F.1). The MkII shows that it is a Mark 2 (no fuller) and the star (*) shows that it has been modified by grinding a false edge to the back of the blade.
