In addition to the Concept Dictionary, MCHPE maintains several other dictionaries to facilitate the research process. Where relevant, cross-references between dictionaries, and to other MCHPE pages or external sites are made:

1. Glossary - provides brief definitions of terms and concepts used frequently in MCHPE research and literature.

2. Research Definitions - contect derives from classifications systems such as IDC-9-CM and physician tariff codes, and from common groupers such as DRG, RDRG, and CMG.

3. Data Dictionaries - highly valued among information systems users. MCHPE has separate data dictionaries for each major set of data (e.g. hospital, medical, physician). This is available only internally.

Meta-Index improves the ease with which information can be retrieved from the Concept Dictionary; it allows the user to start with a broad category of interest and increase specificity by choosing pertinent ‘branches’ of the meta-concept ‘tree.’
