Who is Betty C. Jung?

- Currently, a Health Program Associate in the CT Department of Public Health's Family Health Division - specializing in data systems. Developed Division Intranet as test lab for webpage development.

- Also, adjunct lecturer at Southern Connecticut State University's Department of Public Health - taught Intro to Epi course, and currently, thesis & special project advisor in CEPH-accredited MPH program.

- Before present, staff epidemiologist, serving as CT Adult Lead Registry and Case Management Coordinator for 6 1/2 years.

- Epidemiology drives everything that's Public Health (my opinion). Not only is it the scientific backbone of the discipline, but the philosophical foundation from which its practitioners can look at the world.
The most ambitious outreach activities of Public Health are health promotion and health education - all for keeping everyone healthy and happy. These activities can be more effective when an epidemiological approach is used to prioritize our energies, monitor our progress and then evaluate our efforts.
In essence, as a public health practitioner, it's always advantagous to be an epidemiologist at heart. Then, the head can't help but follow.
